Jomson Kagbeni

Fly deep into the Annapurna Himal for an incredible close-up view of the Himalaya.

Short treks along the Kali Gandaki reveal the life of the Thakhali who make this area their home and from Kagbeni peek north towards the long-forbidden Kingdom of Mustang.

Where are you going?
Day 1: The early morning flight to Jomson is followed by a 4-hour walk along the Kali Gandaki to Kagbeni, gateway to Mustang. Here houses are flat-roofed in the Tibetan style and it is not uncommon to fine ammonite fossils along the river.
Day 2: A 2-hour walk along the Kali Gandaki leads to Marpha. Particularly famous for its apples, Marpha is a lovely Thakhali village of white-walled stone houses, flat roofs (for drying grain and vegetables), narrow paved alleys and a covered sewer system. There is a small gompa here and you can also visit the home of Ekai Kawaguchi, one of the first foreigners to travel in Tibet.
Day 3: Return trek to Jomson.
Day 4: The early morning flight to Pokhara leaves the day free for exploring the city. Depart OR join your
